legolas greenleaf...
Legolas Greenleaf, son of Thranduil, grandson of Oropher, was a member of the Fellowship of the Ring and prince of the Woodland Realm. Although his ancestry is of the Sindar elves, Legolas is referred to as a Silvan elf for various reasons. He entered into Tolkien legend on October the 25th of 3018 in the Third Age, even though it is possible for Bilbo Baggins to have encountered him in his own adventures. If Bilbo and Legolas ever crossed paths in The Hobbit, it is not known. Legolas, however, played a large role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy as the only elvish member of the Fellowship. He fought at many battles, including the Battle of the Hornburg and Pelennor Fields along side Gimli the Dwarf and Aragorn, rightful King of Gondor. Legolas's loyalty never faltered from the Fellowship, and he thus was present at the downfall of Sauron. After the one ring was destroyed, Legolas remained in Ithilien until the death of Aragorn in year 120 of the Fourth Age. He then sailed to the Undying Lands with Gimli to leave Middle Earth forever.
