about the network

In July of 2004, I was already being hosted by a wonderful lady, Liz, at her domain. I had about six fanlistings on her server when she approached me with a better idea: a reseller account! I took her up on the offer immediately, and was allowed $10 from my dad to buy my very first domain name. Now what was I going to register?

I, being the indecisive person I am, came up with several names for the domain, but could not decide which one I wanted to make my home on the web with. I polled my friends on Livejournal, and the consensus was clear: lorien-leaves.net was the favorite. So why isn't the domain called that now?

Lorien-Leaves.net was not...personal enough to me. It was a fandom based name, that fandom being Lord of the Rings, but it had nothing to do with me on a personal level. I wanted something that reflected things about me. I sat, and thought, and thought some more on domain names before I finally settled it. Overstuffed-Closet.net was the best pick.

At the time I was to register my domain, the double closet in my bedroom was literally overstuffed. Overstuffed with old toys, clothes, shoes, and junk all pushing to get out. When you'd open the double doors, you would probably not see any meaning. To me, however, I saw endless memories of my childhood. So, I take the name "overstuffed-closet" to mean two things: firstly, my closet really was overstuffed, and secondly, the closet is my heart, and all those random things in it are memories.

I'm very happy that I chose this domain name, seeing as it will always have something to do with me. My love for Lord of the Rings may fade in years to come, but I will always have a heart full of memories waiting to be released.

many thanks go out to you

There are a few people I would like to thank for helping me create this site or previous sites that have led up to the creation of overstuffed-closet.net. I quite literally would not have had this domain for 5+ years without the following people...

Dad ... for shelling out all this money to allow me to continue to create websites. I really deeply appreciate it.
Kat ... for approving a lot of my earlier layouts before I used them. Your critique really trained my creative eye.
Liz ... for hosting my sites at first and providing me with the reseller account. O-C.net wouldn't be here without you!
Heini ... for hosting my collective on your domain when I first started. I truly appreciate your generous offer.
Valorie ... for helping me run the Malice Mizer fanlisting when I didn't use PHPFanBase. Your help was very much appreciated.
My friends ... for always being there and forgiving my anti-socialness.
YOU ... for visiting this site and reading the thank you's!

Thank you everyone!
